Qualification Requirements to Candidates
CAP/CIPA certificate candidates must be members of a professional organization - an ECCAA member. A CAP qualification candidate must:

  • pass qualification exams with a minimal score of 75 in the following subjects:
  • Financial Accounting I;
  • Management Accounting I;
  • Taxes and Law;
  • to have at least one year of professional work experience;
  • to have adequate computer programs skills (requirements on computer programs experience for a CAP qualification level are set up by a professional organization - an ECCAA member).

A CIPA qualification candidate must:

  • pass qualification exams with a minimal score of 75 in the following subjects:
  • Financial Accounting I;
  • Management Accounting I;
  • Financial Accounting II;
  • Management Accounting II;
  • Audit;
  • Finances (financial management);
  • Taxes and Law;
  •  pass the test with a minimal score of 90 in the subject “Management Information Systems (evaluation on the subject of “Management Information Systems” takes place after passing two or more CIPA qualification exams according to the following procedure: a candidate applies and receives from the CIPAEN the task - test questions to be answered within 7  (seven) days after their receipt;
  •  have at least three years of professional work experience;
  •  have a higher education.

Requirements to a Candidate’s Professional Work Experience
Professional work experience implies the work in the sphere of financial and management accounting, taxation, financial analysis and management, audit, teaching, research activity and other types of work in the above-mentioned spheres.
Professional experience can be developed both before, during and after the exams.
Professional experience of a candidate is recognized, tested and legalized by an authorized body of a professional organization - an ECCAA member.

Requirements to a Candidate’s Education
To be awarded a CAP qualification, a candidate does not have to have a specialized or higher education.
To be awarded a CIPA qualification, a candidate must have higher education in any sphere.  Higher education can be acquired both before, during and after the exams.

The General Meeting of ECCAA dated October 10 – 11, 2007, made a decision to set up the validity of a CAP/CIPA certificate for a period of three years starting from 10.10.2007, on condition of observing the following obligatory rule for the certificate renewal: fulfillment of responsibilities of a member of a professional organization - an ECCAA member and pursue constant qualification advancement (120 hours during three years).
