Participation of the Chamber in the Annual Meeting of the IFAC Council in Seoul

On November 13-14, 2013, the representatives of the POA “The Chamber of Professional Accountants of the RK” took part in the annual meeting of the IFAC Council in Seoul (South Korea).
The issues of revision of the IFAC’s Constitution and Articles of Association as well as a new principles of calculating the membership fees for 2015 and years to come were discussed in the framework of the meeting.
The following documents were presented for confirmation:
Minutes of the IFAC Council meeting on November 14 -15, 2012 in Cape Town (South Africa);
A proposed Strategic Plan for 2014;
A proposed Budget for 2014 (the Council approves only strategic initiatives and budget parameters for 2014);
Proposed fees for full and associate members for 2014.
Working meetings with representatives of accounting and audit organizations from Russia, CIS and non-CIS countries were held in the frameworks of the meeting.
The announcement was made at the meeting that on November 1, 2013, the Agreement was signed on establishment of the Regional Group of Professional Unions (Associations) of Accountants and Auditors of the CIS Countries.
The Agreement was signed by the following IFAC members: the Chamber of Professional Accountants of the RK, the Association of Professional Accountants and Auditors of the Republic of Moldova, the Institute of Professional Accountants and Auditors of Russia and the Federation of Professional Accountants and Auditors of Ukraine.
The purpose of establishing the Regional Group is to promote participation of its members in the activity of international organizations in the sphere of accounting and audit as well as to coordinate its activity in relations with IFAC and other international organizations.
